2001
The Democratic Republic of Amerada was founded February 12th, 2001 by Jonathan Weatherhead, Earl Washburn, Kiril Litvinov, and Mark Hickman. The main reason for foundation was to start a free paradise of a country, that would link culture from Canada and the United States of America, and to go on the internet and start a new micronation. The founders named Washiawa the capital, and Jonathan Weatherhead the President, because he new the most about the internet. Quickly after the foundation of Amerada, the founders announced an election between Kiril Litvinov of the Democratic Party of Amerada(DPA), and Earl Washburn of the Democratic Liberal Party of Amerada (DLPA) for the prime Minster of Amerada. Earl quickly swept Amerada of its feet, finding a large amount of anti-Kiril voters, and stated that if you don't want Kiril to be prime minister, vote for me. The election was to last 2 months, wrapping up April 12th 2001 at noon. It was clear DLPA leader Earl Washburn was going to win from the start. He was helping Amerada in many ways by founding Amerada's first newspaper, the Washiawa Post-Citizen, and by building Amerada's capital Washiawa. March 1st 2001 Kiril opened his new village, New Onto, and his only village achievement was opening the New Onto Stock Exchange (NOSE) which used up a lot of money. The building was built to be the largest stock exchange in the world. Most of it was never used. Over the next few weeks of March, it was becoming pretty evident that Earl Washburn was going to win the election, despite President Jonathan Weatherhead's attempts to neutralize the election. By the beginning of April Kiril and his new running mate William Steeves were allegedly head of a terrorist act to blow up Earl's mayoral mansion in Washiawa. Kiril had really been a bad person leading up to the event. He obviously couldn't handle the fact that he was losing. The Amerada people were waiting for something to put him in for, and this was it. William Steeves was later released for good behaviour. The only way Kiril was going to be released now, was if he apologized, or won the election. Neither happened. The Democratic Republic of Amerada changed its name to the Republic of Amerada. April 12th 2001 Earl Washburn became the 1st Prime minister of Amerada, winning the election with a 73% majority. William Steeves would take over as leader of the DPA party. The first few weeks of the new government went smoothly, except for the firing of two members, who were replaced by a number of new individuals who would help the government become more powerful. Soon law and order came to Amerada. May 2nd, Amerada's 3rd village was started, it was named Los Antreal, and it's claim to fame was the gold rush. Unfortunately the Amerada Track and Field Championships that started April 30th ran out of money. Amerada expanded into the micronational community in late April. Ambrosia became Amerada's first micronational partner April 27th. Many micronations became partners with Amerada in May, and Amerada was included in the Splendid union of Microstatia (SpUM). Amerada's Fourth village started June 3rd 2001, and was named Chicouver. Its claim to fame was the Diamond mines. Turmoil broke loose in late June, when Prime minister Earl Washburn took over as President. He wanted to change the government into a better one, after the government had been going steadily down hill. William Steeves didn't like the new policies, and was reported to have punched the new President in the eye. What was worse was later that week, a hacker named shadow took over the Amerada Internet headquarters, and for the first time in Amerada, someone died. Shadow had killed Billy Joe Bob II. The next week problems had occurred, conspiracies were formed. William Steeves apologized for the incident, and was welcomed back into the government. At the end of the week parliament closed with the Shadow situation un resolved. Then two weeks after Shadow first took over the base, Defence minister Mark Hickman, started a retaliation attempt that would blow up Shadow's base. The plan had worked. On June 27th 2001 at 5pm the Shadow Internet base was blown up killing Shadow. Amerada grew back into what it is today. The government restored the internet base. Into July Amerada stepped its diplomacy to one more level, opening a pavilion at the 2001 intermicronational exposition in Molossia, and planning to participate in the 2002 TorHavn micronational Olympics, as well becoming an Intermicronational Olympic Comittee (IOC) member. July 26th Amerada's 5th village started, as a west coast port village. It was named San Franton. A mix-up with the Principality of Hazra-Bizan, about the two micronations merging creates a controversy, but is quickly resolved. Amerada was voted into the league of micronations, as its 35th member Sunday 19th, the day of the Amerada summer meeting. The voting for Amerada was the second the first being in July was hands down against Amerada's admission. The August 19th poll was closer, and in favour of Amerada's admission, 9 votes for, 5 against, with 1 abstain. August 29th, 2001, Amerada welcomes its sixth administrative region, Illitoba, carved out of the central portion of Amerada. Its main attraction, the prairie attracts many to harvest Amerada's breadbasket. Philadgary named capital. On September 22nd, Amerada was admitted into the League of Secessionist states, making Amerada one of the few micronations who are members of all three major intermicronational organizations. The beginning of the 2001-2002 government year saw the firing of interim prime minister Derek McCullough, as he chose not to show up. An election was then called, for the prime minister of Amerada. DPA leader, William Steeves chose to join the DLPA, so he could run in the election which was officially considered a DLPA government leadership race. Heritage minister, Genevieve Wong ran against him. In an exciting race, on October 21st, 2001 William Steeves won the election with 52 votes, to Genny's 39 votes. The President, during this time, started issuing Governieres to the Ameradian colonies, as he assigned Xavier Redhead to be the Governiere of Illitoba. Samantha Rancourt was named Governiere of New Columbia, and Andrew Lacharite was named Governiere of Califario. Steeves, had ongoing pressure, as the new leader of the DLPA. The RCAA, led by the new New Columbian Governiere, Peter Little, and Tebec Governiere, Scott Noseworthy pressured the DLPA for more democracy, and more power within the colonies. Steeves named former prime minister Derek McCullough to be the Deputy prime minister, after he was named the Governiere of Michswick. On October 22nd, the colony of Oh Scotia was created, from a land of many lakes in northern Amerada. William, showing his bad side, said some stuff he shouldn't have, and almost was impeached, by the President. He eventually apologized, and charges were dropped. Amerada suffered another attack on Halloween, as the Shadow group struck again with 2 bombs dropped once again near the Amerada immigration headquarters. 2 unidentified shadow leaders died, while an Amerada Immigration official, Fred Burnt died from the radiation. November started, as the RCAA had their first election win in New Columbia, as they won 5 seats out of 10. On November 4th, the Republic of Canusa, located off the southeast coast of Amerada, led by a friend of the President, Roch St. Gerorges merged with Amerada. Amerada considers Canusa, only as a territory. Members of the opposition of Amerada gather together to create the Association of Ameradian Governieres, who will later acquire the DLPA governieres of Amerada, and start working together to create a constitution and an Ameradian Senate. Following recent events, the Amerada legislature passed two important acts, the Amerada Elections act (which officially defines how elections are to be run, and how often) and the Amerada Supreme Court act, which is passed just before, Tebec Governiere, Scott Noseworthy is tried, and convicted, for supporting terrorism, and was fined 30,000 Amerada Bucks. On November 7th, Floerta, an oil rich region is named a colony of Amerada. RCAA member, Glen Bohach is named Governiere. Priememinister William Steeves, makes members of the Amerada legislature to right essays. Only 3 of 10 members comply. This creates mass legislative firings which sparks new interest to change Amerada's legislative system forever. Meanwhile, the Monarchist Society of Amerada begins operations, as Amerada's third political party, led by Oh Scotia governier Nicholas Bridgewater. With increasing inactivity in Amerada's government, the President also plans to try and impeach his Vice President, but without any success. On November 22nd, the Amerada legislative Act was passed, which dramatically changed the legislative process in Amerada, from that of an offline system to an online system, which enabled people world wide to participate in the government. It also made ridings in Amerada, so that the new system would be a first past the post/proportional representation system. The next day, Andrew Lacharite resigns as governier of Califario, and is later replaced with Mattlore Devious. On Stiller Day Weekend, 6 people were killed in riots located in Los Antreal, and San Franton. Fire Arms, an illegal possession were used in some of the killings by viscous rioters, who ended up serving life sentences in jail. On December 8th, Amerada's 9th colony, Pennschewan was created in eastern Amerada. It's governier named later, was William Chocolate. On December 10th, 6 more people were killed following the closing of the polls in a legislative election in Oh Scotia. On December 13th, Prime Minister William Steeves was impeached following accusations of treasonous behaviour. Derek McCullough, Amerada's third Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister at the time, quickly assumed position as the interim Prime Minister. On December 14th, an Amerada elections committee closed down polls that were going on in New Columbia, which would elect a new governier. There was tiny offence that was illegal, and it was immediately shut down. On December 19th, Amerada welcomed its tenth colony, New Jundland, whose governier would eventually be Mark Hickman, the Defence Minister. On December 26th, Amerada's fourth political party was created, the Amerada People's Revolutionary Party, led by communist, Marshall Korkovski.
2002
On January 2nd, Amerada's 11th colony, Geord and Island came itno affect. A-PRP leader, Marshall Korkovski would be the first governier. On January 5th, RCAA leader, Peter Little, becomes the first elected governier of a colony, as he wins New Columbia’s governierial election over the same Korkovski. On January 9th, former Prime Minister William Steeves resigns from all jobs he currently held, including Deputy Prime Minister, due to increasing anger towards the Federal government. On January 12th, the remaining seat in the Amerada legislature, after the legislative act was passed, was won in a by-election by Dan Trudel. On Janaury 21st, Amerada’s 12th colony, North Cerritories was created. Their governier would later be Chris Donle. On January 26th, the federal by-election called to fill the seat vacated by William Steeves closed up, as MSA leader, Nicholas Bridgewater became the first member of the opposition to sit in the legislature since Willam Steeves switched parties in September of 2001. On February 12th, Amerada celebrates her first birthday, with small festivities. On February 15th, Amerada’s last remaining territory becomes a colony. Known as Virgrritory. Their governier, would be Education Minister, Alexxx Paris. In March 2002, it looked like Amerada was going to die. The President, desperate to restart activity in Amerada, declared war on South Mondesia, on the basis of them joining Micron. Amerada, with their new allies, the UBR and Cumquat fought, but it was clear they would not win, and within a week the President officially apologized for his actions. A month later, tensions started growing between Amerada and the UBR because of a conflict between Earl Washburn, and their President Chris Donle. The UBR, and its allies declared war on Amerada, but Amerada resisted, without declaring war, and successfully defended her territory with the help of the new Commander of Security, Yuri Andropov. Mr. Donle, who is also the governier of the North Cerritories, was charged for treason, and on April 12th, he was fined 15,000 Amerada Bucks, and sentenced to 180 days of community service. In the weeks to come, the two would later become friends again. On April 29th, the Free territories of Freenesia marched claimed they now owned Amerada. A bitter war then raged on for the days to follow, and the newly appointed Chief of Security, Yuri Andropov was fired, and replaced by Tebec governier, Scott Noseworthy. On April 30th, peace was restored, as Freenesia was given 10 coastal counties in 10 colonies in Amerada, plus land on Micro-Monde in exchange for money, and land on their planet.
